The 1st Zeitgeist European Meet‑Up: Four Full Days of Presentations, Workshops, Social Gatherings, Dancing, Cooking, Collaboration, Fun & Games, and Much More for Moving Toward a More Sustainable Society!

We our first official TZM meet‑up in Europe, which took place in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The event ran from Friday evening until Monday morning.

Tickets had been listed (that then sold out almost immediately); interested parties were instructed to contact Gilbert Ismail to inquire about any returned or cancelled tickets.

We hosted a three‑day event at the European TZM headquarters—a very large building that was entirely at our disposal, with several lecture halls and additional rooms. The focus of the event had been to improve interaction among activists, exchange ideas, and make plans for the future of TZM, while also providing a great deal of fun.

The ticket price had been €25. For that amount we accommodated everyone with basic lodging. Attendees were asked to bring their own inflatable mattress and sleeping bag; they could sleep on‑site, with showers and toilets available. The ticket also included food (both vegan and non‑vegan) and drinks (including alcoholic beverages) for the entire three‑day stay. Nothing essential was lacking.

The Programme :

  • Several lectures delivered by our TZM lecture team
  • Numerous workshops covering a variety of themes
  • Tactical meetings to advance TZM initiatives
  • A nightly party to celebrate our activism
  • “Try‑out” talks, allowing participants to give their first lecture in front of a live audience
  • The unveiling of our first major project/campaign (which was also livestreamed)
  • Screenings of relevant documentaries
  • Small‑scale activism activities

The event had taken place from 11 December to 13 December, providing accommodation for three nights. The only requirement for participants had been to obtain a ticket and travel to Rotterdam; everything else was arranged for them.

Participation was around 100 people.
