Whether you want to take part in street activism, help organize educational projects, contribute creative media, or simply support the community online, your participation matters. All roles are voluntary, and we value everyone’s voice, unique perspective and time.

How to Join

The Community Pages list local groups, teams, and projects that openly affiliate with the movement and are willing to engage with others. Everyone and every group must agree to and follow the Movement Code of Conduct before being listed.The CoC is a very straightforward, a “don’t be a jerk” approach to keep interactions safe and productive. We verify new listings personally to ensure they’re real, active, and not transient map pins or bot operated pages.

  • Local Branches: Find or start a TZM group in your area and meet others committed to pursuing systemic change. Visit our 

  • Online Platforms: Join discussions, share ideas, and stay informed through our social media platforms and Discord server.

  • Global Events: Participate in events like Zeitgeist Day (ZDay) and the Zeitgeist Media Festival, or organize your own activism and awareness campaigns.

  • Projects: Start or jump onto projects and initiatives with others in TZM, like translation work, hydroponics or starting real eco communities based off the movement's principles.

Simple Tips in getting involved with the Movement

Getting involved in the Zeitgeist Movement is a straightforward process that begins with a genuine interest in advocating for global and local sustainability and collaborating on Here are some steps and suggestions to consider when looking to engage with the TZM Community:

1. Take a look at the TZM Network Tree

Here on our website we present a network map, also known as our TZM Network Tree, which shows all the branches of TZM, including local groups, online teams and projects of all kinds. Take a look at the map and see what's happening near you, or what part of the movement you'd like to get involved with. Do not hesitate to contact us if you are unsure or need further help.

2. Join in online platforms

If you are unable to find any local activities, we suggest you look for online platforms that host TZM groups and join them to find others to communicate and work with. Introduce yourself to others there and make a post of how you would like to contribute!

3. Volunteer for projects and events

Volunteer your time and skills to support projects and initiatives led by the Zeitgeist Movement. Whether it's organizing an event, creating educational materials, or participating in community outreach, wether online or offline, there are various ways to get involved and make a positive impact. Be the change you wish to see in the world, become the movement!

5. Learn more about TZM and its goals

Before getting involved in the Movement, it is advisable to familiarise yourself with the Movement's code of conduct, mission, objectives, activities and content. Find out what the Movement stands for and what aspects of it you would like to be a part of. The result is a stronger sense of purpose and achievement when you better understand the fundamentals of how this movement works and what its intentions are.

Apply for a Listing

Applying for a listing means that you would like to have something mapped on the Community Pages such as a information of a movement affiliation of a local group and or a project team. Provide the following when requesting an affiliation/listing:

  1. Group name and primary contact (person’s name + preferred contact method).
  2. Location (city, region, country) and timezone.
  3. Short description (1–3 sentences) of your group, team, or project and its primary activities.
  4. Links: official group page or social media, meeting schedule (if any), and one example of recent activity (event, project, meetup, campaign, publication).
  5. Confirmation that you and the group agree to the Code of Conduct.

We will review and reply. Expect a human response as we’ll ask clarifying questions if needed. Only active, genuine groups that commit to engagement and agree to the CoC will be listed. Once approved, a listing on the Community Pages with the information you provided will be added and you shall receive a notification of that confirmation.

Apply to become a Community Contributor

Becoming a Community Contributor means serving as a trusted trustee and contact for the Community Pages: helping maintain listings, responding to requests, and troubleshooting issues. Contributors act on behalf of the community and not as global admins or movement leaders and are selected solely on merit. Decisions are made by other Community Contributors based on qualifications and fit for current needs; personal friendships or informal chats do not influence selection.

Application criteria

  • Proven involvement: prior, verifiable participation in the movement (months/years of activity or recurring contributions).
  • Skills: strong communication skills and/or technical ability (e.g., web, database, or basic scripting) relevant to maintaining the pages.
  • Reliability: history of following through on commitments and responding to outreach.
  • Trustworthiness: respect for the Code of Conduct, privacy, and transparent decision-making.
  • Availability: able to commit a reasonable and consistent amount of time to contributor duties.

How to apply

  • Submit: name, contact, brief statement of relevant experience, skills, examples of past contributions, and confirmation you accept the Code of Conduct.
  • Review: expect a human review and possible follow-up for clarification.
  • Onboarding: approved contributors receive a short orientation and role guidelines.
